At Newton Gate, we understand the importance of clear communication and transparency throughout the publication process. Our Post-Decision Procedure outlines the steps that follow the editorial decision on submitted manuscripts:
- Notification of Decision: Authors will receive a timely notification of the editorial decision on their manuscript. This decision will typically fall into one of the following categories: acceptance, minor revisions, major revisions, or rejection. The notification will include detailed feedback from the peer reviewers and the Editor-in-Chief.
- Revision Process: If revisions are requested, authors are provided with clear instructions on addressing the reviewers’ comments and improving their manuscript. Authors are encouraged to revise their manuscript in accordance with the feedback provided and to submit a revised version within the specified timeframe.
- Manuscript Resubmission: Upon completion of revisions, authors should submit the revised manuscript through the journal’s submission system. Along with the revised manuscript, authors are required to provide a point-by-point response to the reviewers’ comments, detailing the changes made and addressing any concerns raised.
- Editorial Evaluation: The revised manuscript and accompanying materials are evaluated by the Editor-in-Chief and/or assigned Associate Editor(s) to ensure that the revisions adequately address the reviewers’ comments and improve the overall quality of the manuscript. The editorial decision on the revised manuscript may be based on the original reviewers’ assessments or additional review by new reviewers, if necessary.
- Final Decision: After review of the revised manuscript, the Editor-in-Chief will make a final editorial decision on acceptance, rejection, or further revisions. Authors will be promptly notified of the final decision, along with any additional feedback or instructions from the editorial team.
- Publication Preparation: Upon acceptance of the manuscript for publication, authors will receive instructions on the final steps of the publication process, including formatting requirements, copyright transfer agreements, and any additional materials needed for publication. Authors are encouraged to review and approve the final version of their manuscript before it is published online or in print.
- Continuous Support: Throughout the post-decision procedure, our editorial team is available to assist authors with any questions, concerns, or clarifications. We are committed to providing support and guidance to authors to ensure a smooth and successful publication process.
